A structural check before rooftop solar installation
A roof assessment determines whether the existing structure can accommodate the proposed photovoltaic system within the investigated scope. The analysis depends on the roof's actual condition, the support arrangement and the proposed equipment. A generic panel weight cannot replace an assessment of the specific installation.
We assess roofs on public, healthcare, educational, residential, commercial and industrial buildings. International solar suppliers, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors and energy-resilience programmes can commission the local structural assessment as a defined part of their project.
What the assessment covers
- Review available structural drawings, prior surveys and the proposed PV layout.
- Inspect and measure the roof and relevant supporting elements.
- Assess defects or deterioration affecting the load-bearing structure.
- Assess roof load-bearing capacity using the proposed panels, mounting or ballast arrangement and applicable snow and wind loads.
- Provide conclusions, limitations and recommendations for the next design or installation stage.
Deliverables and responsibilities
You receive a technical assessment report with the agreed calculations and conclusions for the proposed roof installation. Where strengthening or additional investigation is needed, we identify that requirement; detailed strengthening design is a separate agreed stage.
Our work follows Ukrainian standards. PV electrical design, equipment supply, installation and grid connection are outside this roof-assessment scope. The project's overall documentation requirements must be confirmed for the specific works.
Coordinating with solar suppliers and programme teams
Send the proposed panel and mounting specifications early so we can assess the relevant loads and support points. Where a programme covers multiple roofs, provide a site list and available drawings. We agree survey access, priorities and deliverables across Ukraine before confirming the programme timetable.
Coordinate the roof findings with an energy audit where solar PV forms part of a broader retrofit. Required strengthening can be developed through structural design and cost estimates.
Scope, deliverables and quotation
We agree responsibilities, deliverables and review stages with your organisation or lead consultant before starting. Our work follows Ukrainian standards. Reports can be prepared in English upon request. Documents submitted to Ukrainian authorities follow the applicable language and format requirements.
The quotation defines the report and drawing formats, any editable files or signed copies, and the included coordination. The fee depends on roof size and form, structural system, available drawings, condition, access, the proposed mounting solution and calculation requirements. We confirm the delivery schedule after reviewing the inputs and site access; any authority review has its own timetable.
How to commission this service
Email your organisation name, project objective, preferred schedule and available information: site location, building use, roof plans and available structural records, PV layout, panel and mounting specifications, proposed equipment loads and access arrangements.
Attach your project brief or terms of reference, including any procurement requirements and the role you need MREC to undertake. We review the inputs and return a proposed scope and quotation. Our office is in Mykolaiv; site work across Ukraine is agreed according to access and the assignment.

The report identifies the need for further investigation or strengthening within its scope. A detailed strengthening design and estimate can then be separately commissioned.
